Re: Maktun is a free application for collectors
Hi Victor, I just tried getting the Maktun app from the Apple store. It is not appear and thus not available. I also tried the Apple QR code but no luck there. You may want to investigate the reason for this.

Re: Straight clipped planchet?
I don't even think that it is PMD.
The clipped part has been ground to give a smooth finish. Mint damage would be a sharp break.

Re: Bank note 1944
A very nice note. I wonder if it could possibly be Military script or some other government special branch or institution release. I say this because it says "Will pay to the bearer at any branch in Canada of any Chartered Bank" Very interesting that it is for .88 cents. Where did you find it? Where...

Re: 1954 cdn 1 dollar bill no serial number
I have one with the serial number missing as well.
I asked Steve at BCS about grading it but he declined.
You might try Louis at CCCS or Jason at Legacy.
Call them first.

Re: *MM One dollar bill
$50 - $100, where did you get that?
It's hard to tell from the pictures but are there soft creases on the corners? If yes then it's an AU.
I've had the same series UNC's and got much, much less for them at coin shows.

Re: 1973 canadian dollar with *AA
Looks like it might be an AU58. From what I can see it has 2 soft corners on the right side.
You might get $8 - 10 if you put it in a sleeve and avoid any more creases.
Good luck

Re: Shin plaster note
The "A" series were the first Shinplasters issued in Canada in 1870. They became very popular very fast. The volume of both series was the same however the "B" series which followed in 1871 and continued in production until the late 1890's so the distribution was much slower then the "A" series. Wit...

Re: 1955 One Dollar Coin
Yikes, Acetone. If the coin you have is of no value (only melt), then you can get way with it. If there is the slightest value to the coin NEVER use acetone on silver. It will remove the luster from silver. First if you have something like Scotch tape or similar types of tape on a silver coin try so...

Re: Possibly liquidating 45+ years of stock from store.
Hello Kelly, You do have a big job ahead of you. I don't know where bidderdown lives or gets his information from but I have never heard of an auction taking 50%. Now it is hard to say exactly what you have but you may be able to get one of the good Canadian Numismatic Auctioneers doing it for 0% or...

Interesting development.
I wonder if any restrictions will be placed on PCGS.
I may give Jason a call for more info about this.
Thanks for the posting
