Nice coin. I'm not sure if you have a 6/6 .... it just looks like a tall 6 with a little die or punch wear/deterioration. I don't think that it's a "new" variety, as there's been 160 years worth of eyes looking. I don't think that there's a large community of NB cent collectors, but a very nice find.

Can you post a good clear photo of both the Obv & Rev on the same axis? On the Obv, the maple leaf would be at 6:00. In your photos above, it looks like the top of the coin is blackened , maybe from heat. Just want to see the exact mirror image of them, to see what on the Rev matches the Obv.
