Re: 1967 Coin question
It looks to me like some minor MD, but the problem with the G appears to be from being hit/gouged.

Re: 1967 DDO to grade or not to grade?
You should keep it as a "nice find", but the cert costs would far outweigh what it would ever be worth in 2 lifetimes. I don't think that any TPG would even consider MD as anything more than a very common variety and never as an error. You have a good eye to see that anomaly.

Big difference in the full-coin pics and the regular pics. Definitely work done on the surface.

I always thought that nickel was "slightly" magnetic, but nothing like iron/steel.

As coinguy says, it's post mint damage. Someone got adventurous with chemicals and hand tools.

Re: Where to get it Grade?
I'm with coinguy. If you think that you have an error or a variety, post it here first to see if it really IS what you think it is. In my book, a coin needs to be able to SELL (not priced) for 150-200 before it's worth ever sending to a TPG. If you just send a coin into a TPG for a cert, thinking th...

Re: 1888 Half Dollar - Which Obverse?
For me, just looking at the crown tip distance to the "I", it's not a 3. The top jewel of the crown on a 4 is further away from the "I" serif than a "2", so I think that it's a 4. With as well worn as it is, you can't see any of the skin creases, so you can't go by that. " Wow! A foot in the mouth ...

Re: 1967 dd reverse question
It's not worth getting cert'd, since it would cost more to get the cert than the coin would be worth. You asked about "repunched", but I think it's hub doubled and essentially the same thing. It's great coin for your collection and an attention-getter. Nice! Is there any doubling to the portrait? An...

Yes, all the photos that you post are overmagnified and look like snake skin, not metal.
