Re: 1967 DDO to grade or not to grade?
First, Machine Doubling is not a DDO. A DDO is a variety as the doubling is on the die. MD is caused by slippage when the die is released from a struck coin. There is no premium for MD. Also unless it is a recognized DDO, graders will not recognize it. What you have is MD, another of the worthless t...

Re: 1985 Experimental hard case from Mint
Possibly Robbie is correct, maybe they had an experimental rinse on them as well as the packaging.
It certainly isn’t anything that could happen during the minting stage so it had to happen afterwards.

Re: 1985 Experimental hard case from Mint
No, don’t remove them from the case, that will destroy the value. This is one of the few instances where the case is worth more than the coins. What you say is a possibility but we may never know. Whatever happened, it must have happened after the coins were struck so it is not an error. Those photo...

Re: 1985 Experimental hard case from Mint
Looking at my set, I don’t see any sign of those markings. If it is not a reflection from the plastic, then something must have happened between the time the coins were struck and they were packaged. If this is the case, then they would be classed as damage although I am leaning towards reflection. ...

I would say pointed bust but you should really show the whole coin
as there are other markers to distinguish the two.

Re: 1967 Uncirculated One Dollar Bills (no serial numbers)
I would think the market is pretty small as of the millions printed, very few went into circulation as every one kept them. People were buying stacks of them in the hope that the value would go up. Those prices you see are dollars that have been graded so if yours are not graded, you can expect less...

No problem and there are no dumb questions ( unless you ask the
same question over and over) so ask away. Just put each coin on its
own post and be as detailed as possible with your question.

Re: 1969 Dollar with errors
There is nothing on your dollar that would be considered an error.
Every little anomoly is not in an error, in fact about 99.99% of them aren’t.
That dot is probably a small die chip which is fairly common and the rest
is Machine Doubling, another worthless type of doubling.

Re: 1999 Canadian 1 Cent Reverse Rim Mint Error Found
Going on the assumption those marks are raised, then it would appear that there is damage to the
rim of the striking die. If this is the case, it would not be classed as an an error but a variety and
there would be more of the same out there.
If those marks are concuse, then I have no explanation.

Re: $20 Devils Face note
Your DE prefix would be listed on the top line that shows no prefix letters. This line includes all the common prefix’s. A pressed note is a note that through various techniques of flattening tries to restore minor folds or creases. This is frowned upon by collectors as it is a form of alteration. A...

To be a low number, you have to have at least four zeros, preferably five in front of the serial number.
Yours is just a regular serial number.

That is what is called a vise job or garage job.
Someone has taken three coins and squeezed them together.
No way that could happen during the minting process.
