I think the first thing you have to deside is if you want to make money at collecting or just collect. If you want to have a collection that is worth more in 10 years then it is now I think you better be looking at high grade coins , certified or not. I sure don’t know much about the dies that are used for making coins but if the die is polished would it not remove the die surface, that would leave more protrusion on the coin would it not. I have seen 1973 $1 notes on auction sites called replacement notes , Some are * notes and some are X notes .

Just looking for a way to vent!! I don’t mind natural wearing on a coin, most everything I collect is found in circulation. But I sure hate the way coins are being marked up so badly from the coin counting machines

Thanks for the reply , but wondering more as to how are they made different?? Are the loonies made from different metals ??? are they pressed under different pressure??? is the purpose of them just so the RCM has more product to market????
