Re: WTS: Duplicate Canadian & World Notes
Monthly bump. (Most of my 1935 & 1954 Devil's Face duplicates are sold now). Still some nice 1937's Coyne-Towers $1.00 left, including notes like these AU pictured: 0N9726967 crop.jpg 0N9726966_R crop.jpg Some Modified, Scenes of Canada, Birds & plenty of Journey notes available. And many UNC World ...

Re: PMG vs BCS vs PCGS vs the others
we basically have one person only with very high standards offering one opinion. -yes, this is true as far as I know too. I asked him if he certifies World & he does not do that: so it's unlikely that BCS will ever rise to the level of many of the other TPG's. Honestly, after several conversations ...

Re: PMG vs BCS vs PCGS vs the others
Great examples! i have seen a few threads like these in the past: usually by the anti-certification crowd (which I used to be). I have also read many complaints by dealers about BCS being overly critical. Did I worry he'd be that way with submissions? You bet! But the way I look at it, Steve Bell is...

Re: Reproducion Bank notes
Yes, sadly, it has been a chronic plague for our hobby. Many sales platforms have rules that copies are supposed to be larger, printed on one side, etc, but the sellers seldom follow the rules & the platforms just want their commissions. The best place to report them (IMO) is a US based collector si...

Re: 2012 $50 Wilkins-Macklem Prefix GME
I just want to caution you (or anyone reading this) to take Charlton pricing tables (or Book Values BV ) with a huge grain of salt for the recent polymer/paper issues. Despite excellent data recorded on the CPMF (Canadian Paper Money Forum's) Serial Number Data Base SNDB , eBay sales & the online au...

Re: $10 bill issue of 2005 but printed in 2004??
The dates imprinted on the bottom of the reverse sides of both the original Canadian Journey & the upgraded (security strip) series is what made this last paper issue so much fun & interesting to collect. No other series from the Bank of Canada had this info printed on the banknote with such full di...

Re: WTS: Duplicate Canadian & World Notes
The Canada Post strike is over & I am once again in a position to sell. Bank of Canada notes listed in CAD while World notes listed in USD. Most notes at, or well below, prices you'll see on eBay plus you will pay a combined low shipping rate. Let me know what you're looking for (even if I don't hav...

Re: Viola Desmond $10 with ink blotches
Any idea what to look for to see if it's genuine, and the steps to take if it is/isn't? -Do you mean a "genuine error note?" If that's what you mean, I would say unlikely for 2 reasons. One, banknotes are easy to mark up with magic markers (& teller's stamps, etc) & we see post-production artefacts...

Re: 1954 5 dollar
There's always some collector value (& interest) in the first 4 series - so I can't think of why not. That's the most common variety (0.4 billion issued & 64% of Numista users have reported owning one) but if its between VF & EF it should interest somebody out there. Can you list it here, on eBay, o...

Re: 1954 $10 *UT (not on list)
That's a really tough replacement to score: congrats! You should keep it in a currency sleeve & dry place. The CPMF has a Modified $10 replacement registry (you must be registered with the CPMF to view this registry) & I counted less than 30 of these *U/T $10 reported. https://cdnpapermoney.com/note...

@Bigbelts, I suggest you use the pricing tables provided on this site & look up your note's BV: https://www.coinsandcanada.com/banknotes-prices.php?banknotes=Canadian_banknotes_of_1954_with_the_devil%27s_face&id_cat=21 (Remember that no picture means our hands are tied- we can't help much since the ...

Re: 1935 $100 Bank Notes
You could take 1 of your best (or worst) notes to a show, like the TO Coin Expo happening Oct 4/5th & ask a dealer for an estimate. It will be low, of course, but it will give you an idea of what you can get for them (& the advice will be free). https://www.torontocoinexpo.ca/dates.php If you don't ...
