The missing beads are caused by a partially grease filled die.
Not uncommon and there would be more the same as this out there.

That is a Small Date. The Large Date is closer to the rim.

I have a 2022 with what I'm assuming is a die chip (photo 1) and another one that is missing (has lightly struck) beads on the edge (photo 2). Is this a 1953 Small Date? I can't find any examples of the small date and the edging is different than the example of the Large Date in price guide.
