Re: What would you bid on this for---
BRASS ... no! This is just your standard '59 coin... that has some stories to tell... I believe $3 is a decent bid in this case.. Did you win the auction? I lost the bid by a $1. I was later offered $50 for it if I had one it by a large Canadian coin dealer whom I ask about it . I should ask why th...

Re: Also got a 1944 Newfoundland cent for less than face.

I'd spend it at face.. and still be up 20%.... *sigh* My long term plan is to make a trip to Canada to cash in all the change to pay for the trip. We also get Canadian coins for ...

My LCS has a 1921 Canadian five-cent coin for sale.
We got to hold it. From -- http://www.2-clicks-coins.com/article/rare-canadian-coins.html Apart from silver dollars, Canada also used to mint silver coins of five-cent denomination. They were sometimes called “fish scales” for their thinness. In 1921, the last silver five-cent coins were struck befo...

Re: Also got a 1944 Newfoundland cent for less than face.

Some times they are buying coins from widows so the coin shop pulls the silver and gold and they rest we try to get. I have found more than one US coin shop that will sell Canadian coins at ...
