Re: 1996 toon dot
Die chips like this are considered normal wear and tear on the die. It would likely cost you $50 or more to submit to a TPG, an amount that you are unlikely to recoup when selling. So I would say no, but you can spend your time and money as you see fit.

Re: Rotator Radar or Just a Radar?
Take the numbers from your radar 8099908 and rotate them, you’ve changed the numbers to 8066608, which is not the same as 8099908. So it’s still a radar either way, but not a rotator. Let’s say we replace the 9’s in your radar with 8’s, to make it 8088808, and then rotate it, you end up with 8088808...

Re: Pre-1966 Pennies
I guess we’ve gone sideways with this thread, so to answer your question Noncents, I would offer one cent for each penny to start and go up from there until you are both comfortable with the price.

Good $3 to almost uncirculated $132.
If you want someone to give you a grade, coinguy is right, need pictures.
You can find a price list on this site, go to Tokens and medals>colonial and pre-confederation tokens>New Brunswick.

Re: 1985 triple die? Any value
A double or triple die will have made more than one coin, so if you can find another coin with the exact same tripling, you might have something. With machine doubling or tripling, each coin is unique and you will not find another exactly the same. This can sometimes be determined by pictures alone,...

Re: Pre-1966 Pennies
Thanks for the link Henry. By my understanding after reading it, I think it states that coins could be melted with a special permit and coins that are bent or defaced are not legal tender. Or did I read that wrong?

Re: Rotator Radar or Just a Radar?
I think in your examples given beachcow you are correct, but not if the numbers were say 6008006, because the 6’s would become 9’s.

Re: Rotator Radar or Just a Radar?
Any number can be part of a radar, or did you mean rotator? Apparently only 0 and 8 are proper rotator numbers, as they are the same number right side up or upside down.

I could not find mintage numbers, but composition is very likely aluminum, not silver. What is the weight in grams?
