I have two unopened rolls of 1983 pennies. I got them from the bank directly in 1983.
I have no idea what varieties of this coin might be in each roll.
Any idea what these rolls might be worth?
If I decided to sell them would it be better to sell the unopened rolls or open it up and sell individual coins?
thanks!

Re: 1983 pennies - unopened rolls
At the moment they're probably worth exactly what they say on the reverse. I would salt these away in a sealed box buried in Algonquin Park with instructions for your great great great great grandchildren as to how to find them and get into the box.
Re: 1983 pennies - unopened rolls
The only variety that I know of in 1983 is the Near and Far Beads with the Far Beads worth
about double that of the Near Beads. Also there is the chance you may find an error coin but
the odds are slim. Look for any high MS coins but they would probably have to be certified to sell.
The only way to find these is to open the rolls and check each one individually, but once you do this
you can't sell them as unsearched rolls.

Welcome to the form Maaddmike, I like JNOD’s idea best if you want to get a return on your investment. Some one might give you a couple dollars for a roll but with more then 975 million made can’t see you getting a big return sorry. They are mostly copper so maybe if coppper prices goes through the roof.

Thanks for the replies....I thought they might have been worth something.
Back into the drawer they go. Might be worth something for my kids to sell someday!
