The 1964 dot Penny.

I acquired an actual 1964 dot penny from a collection a while ago. (It's the one shown on this site and not the fake ones you see pawned on Ebay.)
It's approx ms 63-64 as it's very nice except for a small patch of die scratches in the field and minor mint damage.
Anyways.. I get varied opinions on this coin from "it's very valuable" to "it's not a real variety." I have seen a few real ones that have sold for $100 on ebay but none of those had been graded. Questions: Why are the prices so high on this site? And Is it even worth getting graded? - as I don't know what grading company would even recognize the variety.
Any extra info about this coin would be appreciated.
I can post a photo later if there is actual interest is viewing the coin itself..
cheers.
