When did Canadian Mint first start using mint mark logo and are coins with P vice logo more sought after than the ones with logo?

The "P" is not a mintmark ... it means "plated" construction.

Wikipedia calls it a mint mark

P – From 2001 to 2006, most 1¢, 5¢, 10¢, 25¢, and 50¢ coins issued for circulation were struck with a P Mint Mark to represent the Royal Canadian Mint's plating process.
