Had this piece for awhile and wanted to share with the community here. I only know of two pieces to exist.

Interesting, I'm guessing that the center was designed to have a color applied. Can you tell us any more of the story behind it???

Coin was given to me by someone who did not collect coins and did not know what he had. They were part of a test lot that the mint sends out for metal heat testing and coloring testing and must have lost track of them. I was told this is a legitimate test piece by someone who had contacts in the mint.

My son tried to sell this a couple years back by putting photos on CCF and someone responded that they had seen many of these coins but that sounded like a trick to get the coin for a couple hundred dollars. Being that i know only two to exist and the others were destroyed it has quite high rarity.

Its not for sale but i wanted to share with community and maybe get it published in variety books.

Thanks
