Good afternoon,
I have this 1980 D Lincoln cent, in pretty rough shape, but it seems to have a lot of die filling. I don't really collect nor know much about the US cents but they fall into my lap on the regular as I am a CAD small cent and CAD nickel collector. Is it pretty normal for the US cents to have so much filling? I see a LOT of die deterioration on the US cents, especially on the the United States band... I assume due to the huge amount they press... but this one is really missing a lot of info, and on both sides. Anyway... I thought I would put it up for discussion.

That is a grease filled die, not uncommon, yours is fairly prominent but I have seen some
where over 75% of the relief is filled. Yours should still be worth a premium to someone
who collects these.

75% filled would be a sight to see. And as I mentioned I don't really hold onto too many US cents... and I have never sold any of my collection - although I should think about it. So thanks for the insight and I will keep this one in my scantly filled US box.
