1925 Struck Through Grease or Lamination Error?

Post by Merki » Wed Sep 23, 2020 4:08 pm

This 1925 Penny seems to have been struck through grease during minting. I could not find ant reference to 1920 Small Cent Errors in Coins and Canada. If not grease then it might be a lamination error?

It also has a die crack from the D in IND to the rim.
It has a die crack from the S in Georgivs
It has another die crack in the V in Georgivs. This crack starts at the rim but goes through the V and towards King George the V's mouth.

The Reverse of the coin is fine.

What sort of value might a coin like this have in addition to it's value as a key date 1925?

I don't think struck through anything. It's Post-mint damage and will greatly reduce the price if sold.
