1888 Penny - cracked die or odd punch

I have a 1888 Canadian penny that has some oddities with the three 8s. The far left appears to be double punched, the middle 8 appears to have a die crack at the bottom of the 8 that was not fixed and the last 8 seems to be oddly (double?) punched. Can someone assist me in understanding if they have seen this before?

I believe that all of the oddities you pointed out JJ, is damage caused by something hitting your coin after it has left the mint and not doubling or die cracks.

I agree ... post-mint damage. Something struck the coin.

Thanks, folks for your responses - now the mystery question what struck the coin! LOL - if only coins could speak what history we would learn!

Thanks again!
