A little help please
A little help please
Hey all. I'm new to coin collecting and trying to figure out what type of error this would be called? Thanks!

Welcome to the forum
Not an error, it looks like some sort of corrosion has attacked you cent.
Possibly been buried or exposed to something corrosive for awhile.

Is there a thin coating on it? It looks like some of the lettering is fainter than the rest. DFidn't leave the mint that way.

Thank you all for your replies.
I think those are bad pictures. I will retake them tonight and post them.

Here are some updated pictures. I think I need a softer light to get a better picture. There is no corrosion or surface erosion. It looks like it was struck with something in between the planchet and the die.

Re: A little help please
So I found out what the error is; it's a strike through. I don't know what it would have struck through since it's so smooth and all. My assumption would be grease.
Anywho, I'm attaching a couple of better pictures for anyone else who might have the same question I had.

Much better pictures, I wish you had shown those in the first place.
I agree that it is a Struck Through, most likely grease.
