Hello all,
I am curious to find out more about this penny. I have never seen a doubled K on a 1979 Canada cent before, and I have held a few thousand.
I can't find anything about it online in the 1979 documentation, nor have I ever seen one for sale.
The closest thing I have come to comparing is on this site, in the 1979 cent section ,and #2429 photo submitted by the community lists it as "unclassified" . IMO, this is a clear example of a double die. The "corners" are clearly separated, and it does not appear, to me anyway, that is is machine or ejection doubling.
Obviously the double 979 is the usual for this year.
I am interested in hearing some feedback on this.
Is it a non classified, but very real variety?
Cheers!
