Should a canadian 2000 5 cents
Should a canadian 2000 5 cents
I got a 5 cents year 2000 no mint mark . Should it be magnetic?
Re: Should a canadian 2000 5 cents
By mint mark im guessing you mean a P below the effigy of the queen.
The P indicates a plated coin and is magnetic. A coin with no P is not magnetic

I meant the coin has "no" mint mark at all but non -magnetic sure looks like cupro-nickle. also have a 2001 nickle no mint mark and also non-magnetic. I also stumbled on two 2000 "p" dime. Sold one not graded for 975.00 but still have one going to get it graded. Ok thanks for the reply.

Re: Should a canadian 2000 5 cents
I suppose we should be having this discussion under a new heading . But Anyone out there have an explanation for this?
I’m just going by this web site saying that 2000P wasn’t minted or was this coin from a special set of some kind?

The 1999P & 2000P dime was issued for testing for the vending industry and some made there way into circulation.
They are fairly rare and hard to find. Check the Coins and Canada sold site for values.
