1967 dd reverse question

Post by Humble001 » Tue Mar 11, 2025 1:47 am

Hi everyone

My apologies but I am new to coins and have a few questions. I have a 1967 Canadian Nickel which is what appears to be double died..my question is that I find no record of this being the case. First question is this a double die? If so how does one get this certified and how does one put a value on something where there is no record to compare to.

My apologies for the pictures have a lousy camera

It's not worth getting cert'd, since it would cost more to get the cert than the coin would be worth. You asked about "repunched", but I think it's hub doubled and essentially the same thing. It's great coin for your collection and an attention-getter. Nice!

Is there any doubling to the portrait? Any other letters? Or just Regina?

Welcome to the forum

First, the correct terminology is a Doubled Die.
Also it helps to include a complete photo of both sides.
Yes that is a Doubled Die but does not add a great deal of value
and certainly not worth grading unless the coin is a high MS grade.
