Need help identifying error
Need help identifying error
I came across this coin recently and looking to find out if it is an error coin and how it would be classified.

Welcome to the Forum
Picture is a little out of focus but it does not look like an error.
It looks like someone has put glue on the coin and pressed another coin on top of it.
Try soaking it in pure acetone for about 24 hrs and see if it comes off.

Re: Need help identifying error
Looks to be outer coating of a gas blown off of another coin prior to strike

Re: Need help identifying error
Not an error. It looks like someone "sandblasted" it with sawdust/nut chips or talc to remove the outer plating. A neat garage job.

Does it have a reeded edge ?
May be some type of dryer coin.

No edge rounded like the bread taken off sandwich or bun taken from cooked Hamburger it looks great but no outer coating.
