2022 Dimes. Any thoughts on these?

Post by GMAC » Sun Sep 01, 2024 8:42 pm

On Friday I picked up some rolls of dimes from the bank and one on the rolls appeared to be an uncirculated roll of 2022 dimes.
While inspecting these coins I can across 2 dimes with anomalies that I am curious to learn more about.
One dime seems to have a smudge or plating issue, and the other seems to missing a bead or two.
If anyone has any information on these types of anomalies, I would appreciate the tutorial.

Thanking you in advance

Welcome to the forum

That is what is known as a “Struck Through.” There was something on the die, in this case case probably
grease, when the coin was struck. In your case, it looks like they were both struck from the same die.

Thanks Coin Guy. Are they worth keeping?

Keep the larger struck through as an example. They are not really big enough to have much value.
