2013 double struck, thoughts?

Post by Bhyde86 » Sun Nov 27, 2022 5:12 pm

I havent been able to find any record of this coin, any other examples or any info on this. What i do know is it is a 2013, queen struck on back and caribou typical struck on front, and there is a double struck inverted queen head on the caribou side. It is 100% evident when you examine close enough. I believe this to be a very special error coin, what do you all think of it?
I can provide better pictures, there also evidence of adie break in the 2nd striking on the caribou side aswell

Try some acetone on the blob to the right, might just be glue

Yes, it looks like glue to me as well, with another coin glued on top with an Obv side showing in the glue.

Welcome to the forum.
Have seen this before. Someone has put glue on the coin and pressed another quarter into it.
Soak in acetone for a day and your “error” should disappear.

Really? Thanks for the quik feedback, good to be here and i have been collecting for years. My wife found this one in her change I will try the acetone! It did have that dark splotch on one side so maybe thats all it is thanks...To me though It does seem both images are pressed into the coin itself with raised and depressed portions in the actual metal, is the what the glue thing could result in? Im not so sure it will acetone away but if it does that settles it, thank you
