Any information on these third party plated sets?
I purchased a couple of these gold plated sets spur of the moment at a local coin shop, full sets, not just this 50 cent piece. I realize they are not plated by the mint, but have seen these sets popping up now and then in different forums and blogs. I'm only curious about them because all the sets I have seen all have the same packaging so there must have been a decent number of these sets produced by one source, I am assuming anyway. The plating quality is very good as well. Thought this would be a good source for some info on them. Thanks for any help available! Had to crop pics in order to upload.

Those would be the 1967 Centennial sets. There were many different after market sets produced
to try to entice buyers. Although they would have sold at a premium, plating them has devaluated them.
Right now to a coin collector, they would just be worth the value of the silver in them.
