So I am fairly certain this is one of the German Planchet errors, however am curious what the extra string of beads could be? Have not seen that before.

Welcome to the Forum
First, a German planchet is not an error, there were 10 million produced in Germany to help with the
production during the introduction of the Toonie in 1996.
That extra string of “beads” you see is just damage

I agree. That extra string at the bottom looks very much like someone tried to take an electric pencil to the coin and did not have a steady hand, or found it a harder alloy than they expected.
