Post by john » Tue Sep 09, 2008 8:00 am

I need help here. Different images but same coin. The scratches are on the plastic holder. The coin is inside of it since 1980 (the day i bought that coin) and i dont really want to remove it.

I'm not much of a coin grader when it comes to the victorian coins but I would like to point out a letter doubling on the IA at the end of VictorIA.

As for the grading, I would say it's at least VF-20 and definitely not over EF-40... maybe VF-30...

I'm not a coin grader but I like to give my opinion for that and your coin look like a VF-20. I can't go higher because hairs just in front of ear are too much erased.

The die shift may cause doubling on all the side of the coin.

Thx all!

There's no doubling on the legend. It just an illusion. I'll probably send this coin to ICCS to obtain a real grade. I think it's higher than VF. Pictures doesn't show it well.

Let me know when your coin will be graded by ICCS. I will try to adjust my skills.

Definitely VF-30, but I think above that, but not XF-40 as there is too much wear around the ear.

I doubt that you will get a response, if you read the OP’s profile,
he hasn’t been on this site since 2008.
Why are you bringing up these old threads?
