Just looking for opinions for this 1935 $1....Worth TPG certification ?

The normal rule of thumb for TPG or not is that, if you can actually sell it for more than $100, then finding a TPG may be in order. I think that your coin, which was kept and/or hoarded for many decades because it was the first, would still only be book-priced at about $100, not what you could sell it for. The scratches on the OBv wouldn't let it get above a 62-3, so you should just keep it as a nice coin in the first year of issue. With the cost to certify, plus shipping and insurance and handling, it would cost half of what it would ever be worth
