1954 'Devils Face" Canadian banknote

Post by Peter McPherson » Thu Nov 12, 2020 9:53 am

Good morning All,

I have question about displaying banknotes. Is it a good idea to have banknotes framed and displayed? If so, what should I consider. I have a collection of 1954 Devils Face Coyne-Tower signature ($1 through $20) uncirculated. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Hi Peter, I’m not really a paper guy, but I would be concerned about sun fading by doing that.

Hello Peter
I would be very careful about placing raw notes in a frame for chance of damaging one of the notes in the process.
I display many notes in a curio cabinet I have. What I do is put them in an acid free clear poly sleeve, then rest them on top of a small plastic easel (many types available on eBay) inside the curio cabinet. Displays beautifully & I can access any note whenever I please. Also yes, either way, never display in an area that gets direct sun light

cheers
Dan
