1973 $1 bundles uncirculated

Post by Jay Llewellyn » Thu Dec 10, 2020 2:47 pm

I have 8 sequential bundles of 100 and 1 separate bundle with only 96 sequential number of 1973 Canadian $1 Bank of Canada notes. They are not circulated however wondering how I get the certification that they are uncirculated and condition? The bank has their band around the notes but I am guessing not original based on the logo in the picture. Also what value would be placed on these? I ran a serial number check and uncirculated is $40 each bill however with millions printed not sure why they have a high value at this point? The top bundle has one middle bill slightly wrinkled but not creased folded (likely from an elastic).

Hello!

The EAX bundle is the most valuable

The EAX notes /bundle is the most interesting. I'd love to see another picture of signatures. The other notes appear to be regular issue with a realistic selling price of a couple bucks per note. It's unlikely there is any premium due to them being in bundles as there are millions in existence.

Grading banknotes is done on an individual note basis, not by the bundle. There are popular grading companies in Canada and the US and rates are $10-$15 each. Your EAX notes appear to be worth $10 - $15 each, so...there's no real rush to get them graded.

Thanks for the feed back. Here is a closer look at the EAX. How come the site states it is worth far more than $10-15? It was not circulated, how do I tell if it is uncirculated. They all look like new?

Jay , Are you sure you are looking at the EAX note with the correct signature. I think beachcow is close in value with a Crow -Bouey .
A Lawson - Bouey note has a much higher value.

What you have is the EAX Crow -Bouey signature worth $10-15.00.
It is the EAX Lawson -Bouey signature that is more valuable.
