Post by daning333 » Wed Nov 16, 2022 9:23 am

Hi, I noticed this in the 1954 banknote valuation chart;

" Prefix D/I - Test "

Huh ?

No values have been added , nothing in Charltons 33rd Edition.

Can anyone shed some light ?

Thx

Look in the CPMF under DI note, you will find your answer, The BOC was testing a varnish

Look at the BOC letter, the Fort Erie company which was part of Sherwin Williams is a varnish coating supplier, the BOC lasered four small squares on these 20 notes and one can inference they were testing a varnish
