1967 one dollar bills

Post by 1winchesterpl » Tue Nov 24, 2020 1:08 pm

I have 14 1967 $1 banknotes. On three of them there appears to be no serial number. instead there are the numbers 1867 1967. Is this common?

Pretty common. There were 12 million printed and I wold bet most of them are Uncirculated as people were hoarding them hoping they would increase in value.

Recently visited a currency buyer and he said there are far too many Cent non serial bills out there. Face value only and he did not even want to see them. My few are just going to the bank before Jan. 1 to get rid of them. I have 20 unc 1986 2 dollar bills and the response was the same.

You can sell them on Ebay for more than face.
Most dealers have hundreds of them and don't want to keep too much inventory these days.
They will always worth at least face value, even after Jan. 1. You will be able to return them to Bank of Canada anytime in the future.
