2007 10 cent - Strike Error?

Post by aboss020 » Mon Apr 24, 2023 1:20 pm

Hello, I found this coin in a roll and was wondering if anyone had any idea what this is? I thought it was paint but it's smooth. The strike goes through the frosted area too. I've been getting into coin collecting again and thought this was interesting.

It looks like a strike error but not sure what it could be. If it's some sort of error, is it worth it to get it graded? I'm going to keep it in a flip anyway because I think it's interesting. Sorry for the blurry photo...took it with phone zoom.

It is a remarkable coin in my point of view.
This is a coin that I found in Mintstate condition that was always protected carefully since then (Patine)
May I ask if it was out of roll that you bought from mint.ca or retailer or was it second hand roll?
Also, you'r coin has way more intense and pronouced reaction then mine, so not Patine

That is MintMark accordingly to the Millésime
Nice quality photo too, would you mind posting the Monarch side
I call it the ``Covid Rainbow Coin``

To me, the dime had something spilled or dripped on it after the strike. The "contaminated spot", for lack of a better term, is over the top of the strike, with the design "sparkly" as well as the field. Hard telling what happened, but the planchet wasn't like that when it went through the strike.
