2024 Bare Leg Beaver

Post by 2bits » Thu Jun 06, 2024 11:01 pm

These coin examples are from a 2024 First Strike Mint Roll #3153/5000.
There appears to be at least 2 different strikes, one with full fur and one with missing fur on the front and back legs.

Weak strike. Either the die details wore flat or it didn't get struck hard enough to form the high points. The multiply plated steel junk is hard to strike. Just look how low they had to make the relief of charles to get good impressions.

About 1/2 of the coins in the roll were the bare leg variety and the other half were the full fur variety.
