I was having a look through my fathers coin collection and I saw these three Canadian 1 cent coins with unusual ‘ware’ and ‘markings’. The coin with the date scratched into it seems to capture a date in time, perhaps special to someone. The coin with the scratchings all around the edge of the coin I cannot imagine being normal ware. And the coin with the ‘1’ as a vague impression seems odd to be worn in just the one spot…Just thought I’d share them in this site to see if anyone had any comments.
I’ve posted photos of both sides of the coins…but for some reason I can only post one side of the last coin. (I guess I can only post 5 images at a time?)

Re: Canadian 1 cent oddities
Looks to me like intentionally damage coin. Maybe intentionally damaged is a strong term . But man made damage

Well, you were almost able to post the first coin on it's birthday. It is all crude manmade damage.

OMG… I didn't even notice the actual date scratched into the coin! November 26th…okay now I’ve spooked myself out. I signed up for my account on November 26th!
Regards man made damage…I’m guessing these coins are a bit ‘soft’ for the damage to be made so ‘focused’…for instance, completely removing the ‘1’ and nothing else? I do find the evidence of the human interaction with the coins interesting. Rather than just general ware and tear.
Thanks for the comments.
