Wth happened?, canadian nickle

Hey all I got this coin and the one side is almost gone? I can get a few letters out but would this be considered an error ? Thank you all for your responses.

Not an error in any way, PMD. There is no way for that to happen when the nickel was struck.
The obverse has been ground off and the reverse is corroded.

As coinguy says, it's post mint damage. Someone got adventurous with chemicals and hand tools.

I don't know about chemicals but this coin was damaged aggressively :shock:
