Hi Guys and Gals,
I'm new here. I'm wondering if someone could tell me if there was any value (aside from the intrinsic value of the gold) of this 1890 half soverign.
The one side at one point had a pin attached to it and so there is solder across it; which is the reason Im reaching out to you guys to tell me if it's worth anything or if I should just sell it to melt down.
Thanks
Ryan

Thank you so much for your reply. Do you have any idea where I would sell something like this as bullion and how much I would get for it?

Re: Half Soverign
Your 1/2 sovereign has .1177 troy oz of gold in it. You can sell it at any coin show or many jewelry stores. You should be able to get about 80% of the world gold price, which is today about $1210 ... so .8 X .118 X 1210 = about $114 US. It may be a little less, because the solder on there would increase the weight of your coin. Your coin has no numismatic value.
